Class 4 Driver Training

Develop safe habits for passenger transportation

Training overview

Passenger transportation calls for more than getting from one place to another. Class 4 training at NEW ERA DRIVING SCHOOL LTD. focuses on smooth vehicle control, careful observation and an awareness of passenger needs. We discuss your intended work and licence category before recommending a training scope.

Who is this training for?

A Class 4 licence may be relevant to taxi, limousine, ambulance or certain small-bus roles. Restricted and unrestricted Class 4 licences permit different vehicle uses. Your job, vehicle capacity and any employer or platform requirements all matter.

Skills and training topics

Your starting skills and licence conditions help determine the training plan. Topics to discuss include:

  • Pre-trip vehicle checks and identifying safety issues
  • Scanning, hazard recognition and defensive driving decisions
  • Smooth braking, acceleration and safe following distances
  • Passenger comfort, safe stopping and awareness around entry points
  • Lane changes, intersections, backing and parking
  • Inspection and road-test preparation appropriate to the intended category

Before you begin

  • Minimum licensing age: 19.
  • Meet the full-privilege licence and experience requirements for a commercial upgrade.
  • Obtain the appropriate Class 4 learner licence for practical training.
  • Meet ICBC medical, vision and driving-record requirements.
Discuss your restricted or unrestricted licensing goal before booking. Vehicle suitability and any road-test vehicle arrangements must be confirmed. A licence alone does not establish eligibility for every employer or ride-hailing platform.

Check your individual requirements with ICBC before booking. Official guidance: ICBC restricted and unrestricted licence classes · ICBC commercial licence requirements

Your next steps

  1. Tell us which passenger-transport role you are considering.
  2. Confirm the required restricted or unrestricted category with ICBC.
  3. Discuss training availability, the vehicle and the inspection skills required.
  4. Practise the relevant driving tasks and arrange any required ICBC testing.

Schedule and training arrangements

Call us with your preferred days, current licence and training goal. We will discuss available times, lesson duration, equipment and the scope of training before you book. Any road-test booking help or vehicle use must be confirmed directly.

Training fees

Fees are provided on request after discussing your needs. Ask what is included in your quote and whether any test-related arrangements are separate.

Common questions

What is the difference between restricted and unrestricted Class 4?

The permitted vehicles and passenger-carrying uses differ. For example, unrestricted Class 4 includes eligible buses with up to 25 seats including the driver; use ICBC guidance to confirm your category.

Will this qualify me to work for a ride-hailing company?

You must also satisfy current platform and regulatory requirements. Confirm these directly with the company and the relevant authorities.
